It could be that youve always wanted to teach English to children in Bolivia, or throw yourself to a jungle in India: the options are endless.
Whatever your gap year ambitions may be, this could be one of the few times in your life where you have the time to make this venture into the unknown. Once in the throes of study, time-out is at the mercy of school and exams,

It has never been so easy to organise a gap year, either. There are a multitude of organisations dedicated to helping students organise their travel experiences and a number of companies now specifically cater for the gap year traveller. Taking the time to travel this way is a golden opportunity to sample and learn from other cultures and traditions, which may make you re-evaluate your own sense of lifestyle. It also depends on what you end up studying at university; those who are heading down a more vocational path may benefit from diving straight into university. However, those following a more creative or arts-based route, may find a gap year, full of new experiences, is exactly what they need.
